Eagle Academy Music Department

Hey Eagle students, if you need help with anything email me at jcollins1@dcsdk12.org, and I will send you an email with a Google Meet link. We can also just chat through email if you prefer that instead.

Hello classes,

Due to a series of unfortunate events, Eagle Academy will be continuing our lessons from our home until we can safely resume physical classes together again. This has become the recommended action to help combat the covid 19 virus outbreak.

I am, as you are reading this, creating and maintaining a virtual space for us to continue to communicate and learn about music from each of our diverse classroom perspectives. I will be providing content and assignments for each of you to complete from the comfort and safety of your own home.

As a group of individual Eagle Academy teachers, we have established that we will uphold a unified expectation that all students will complete a specific range of academic assignments between 2 and 4 examples each week. These assignments will be designed for students to demonstrate their ability to concertize a single, or many, Colorado State content standards, and enrichment activities.

As a staff, we will be utilizing a vast number of different strategies and platforms to provide our students with a quality and comprehensive remote education within the confines of this situation. Each of the staff members at Eagle Academy will be available at a consistent time amounting to a 4 hour block during each normal EA academic day. You can expect that each teacher will provide you with a time that they can be contacted, through their preferred method of contact, to assist each individual student with questions regarding lessons, assignments, and assessments. My office hours will be 1:00pm to 5:00pm Monday through Thursday. I will also be checking my work email throughout the day everyday.

Let's keep the momentum moving positively forward, and keep our mindset in a goal oriented direction toward graduation and high school completion and competency. All of you have what is needed and required to be successful, so let's continue in the positive path we have already founded. Just because things have changed, doesn't mean your projected exit of high school has to also change. Let's keep this thing on course, like a train on rails, and continue on our track towards graduation!

**Okay, now for the important stuff. I have provided each music class with a special Google Classroom code that will grant each student access to the classroom you need to be in. I have posted a list below, and in each music class sub directory. I will need you to go into your Google account (Provided by the school district), that each of you already have from the district, and add our music class code to your Google Classroom. I will try to make this easy, but if it becomes a problem, I will walk you through the steps if needed.

If you navigate to "https://google.com" and look at the 9 square icon in the right corner of your web browser, you will be able to look through the different applications offered by Google. If you look closely, you will find the Google Classroom icon. When you click the icon, you will be in the Google Classroom application. Next, you should look for the + sign in the right corner of your browser. If you click on the "+" sign it will ask you if you want to make or join a classroom. All of you want to join your specific music classroom. Google will ask you if you have a code to input. This is the time you need to look below for your Q3 class code. If you are having difficulties, email me and I will walk you through it. When we are all attached to a Google Classroom, we will continue class from home.
