Here are some of the musical skill-sets we will be focusing on in Music Comp:

- Reading music notation both pitch and rhythm on the staff.

 

- Identifying musical Clefs and what information they provide.

 

- Understanding sharps and flats and how they define key signatures.

​

- Identifying pitch relationships called intervals by ear and sight.

 

- Identifying triad chords and their fundamental characteristics by ear and       sight.

 

- Organizing chords into progressions based on specific keys and labeling           each chord with the appropriate Roman numeral analysis.

 

- Identifying musical scales by ear and by sight.

​

- Discussing diverse musical forms and incorporating them into                           a composition.

 

- Learning to apply these skill-sets above on the classroom instruments and       compositions on the common Digital Audio Workstation Garage-Band.
